A brief guide to safe tripping

We recommend reading James Fadiman's Psychedelic Explorer's guide for a comprehensive overview of how to trip safely and recommended precautions. We also recommend reading The Psychedelic Handbook for short chapters and recommended dosage regarding different compounds.

There are a couple things to be mindful of:

1. Consider your "set" and "setting". Set refers to your mental state for your desired trip day/night. If you haven't slept well, are hungover or dealing with anything severe, it's probably not a good idea to take an mind altering substance. This is referring to your "set". For "setting" - it's generally advisable to do it in nature and outside. If doing it at a festival, consider lower dosages as there are more variables out of your control. Avoid situations where you have to rely on your phone or deal with logistics.

2. If new/inexperienced to the world of psycehdelics - do research on recommended dosage guides. Always start small and respect the substance/journey. Typically LSD duration will be 8 to 12 hours but the peak is much shorter than that. Psilocybin duration is more in the 4 to 6 hour range. LSD is very potent with small substance so even if it looks really small - be aware of the dosage. Typically 100mics is a full psychedelic dosage.

3. If you ever feel a bit anxious or overwhelmed - remember that everything will be ok and it's part of the experience. Take a deep breath and make sure your breathing is flowing. If outside, it can be helpful to take off your shoes and feel the ground with your feet.
