Bicycle Day 19 April 1943 - LSD

Swiss chemist Albert Hofmann is an unlikely legend.

He was a normal highly educated chemist and was the first person to synthesise Lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD), also known as its street name “Acid”.

Bicycle day commemorates the first ingestion of LSD by Albert and is the inspiration for our flagship and 1st edition sweatshirt on this Psychedelic clothing store.

I highly recommend reading the book:  LSD and the Divine Scientist: The Final Thoughts and Reflections of Albert Hofmann

As you learn more about LSD you come to appreciate that it is at the intersection of science, playfulness, self-exploration and fun.

LSD still suffers from negative connotations due to its illegal status from the 1960s which was linked to the counter culture movement and governments feeling threatened by its links to protests and societal change. I believe LSD will become fully legal in our lifetime. Like any mind altering substances, regulation and advice is required to minimise bad experiences. As you do your own research you will see that LSD is a low addictive substance and is less harmful than legal drugs like Alcohol, Cigarettes and strong pharmaceutical medication.

LSD is extremely potent and has a very high impact to size ratio. Another blog post will talk about the importance of “set” and “setting”.

LSD at the right dosages is a perfect substance for listening to music at home, at festivals or in nature.

Please note that we are not a medical professionals and everyone should do their own research and consult their GP before taking any substance.
